World premiere 11.9.26, Thalia Theater
Eva, a young interpreter, is called in at the last minute to a trial to translate from Polish into German—about what happened at Auschwitz. In the dock: men from the mainstream of society. For the first time, Eva hears about the incomprehensible events that the young Federal Republic has so thoroughly concealed behind a facade of normality gleaming with economic prosperity. And suddenly the question arises: Did we really know nothing about all of this?
In Deutsches Haus, Jorinde Dröse tells the story of the beginning of a confrontation that remains unresolved to this day, of personal entanglement—and the question of what we choose: to look or to carry on as if nothing had happen
