In their last joint work, René Pollesch and Fabian Hinrichs address the tragedy and absurdity of modern existence. In his solo performance, Hinrichs embodies an entire shared apartment community—many people at once, and yet only himself. In ja nichts ist ok (nothing is ok), Pollesch demonstrated once again, shortly before his sudden death, why he was one of the most influential theater makers of his time. A Berlin flat share becomes the scene of global crises, a place where everyday chaos and world politics collide. Hinrichs jumps between the characters with humor and dedication, letting them argue about disorder and the big question of how to live the right life. This absurd and at the same time touching work reveals the utter helplessness of people in the 21st century and their unbroken longing for connection.
ja nichts ist ok – a legacy of two artists who shaped the theater of our time. The production was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen in 2025.
