In a city full of winding alleys and huge palaces, Momo lives in a dilapidated amphitheatre. She has a special talent: listening. Not many people in this world still have the ability to open up to others and really listen. But her life changes when the grey men suddenly appear: as agents of the Time Savings Bank, they persuade people to sell them their time. And so, soon, stress and despair rule everyday life. Momo sees right through the evil scheme and, with the help of the wise Master Hora and the turtle Cassiopeia, sets out to help the people and get their time back.
Ende's novel about a child who knows how to escape the clutches of the fast-paced adult world is a timeless story about what really matters: love for one's neighbour, empathy and living in the moment.
