Große Elbstraße 275A

von Mazlum Nergiz
World premiere 16.1.27, Thalia Gaußstraße

After the death of his adoptive mother Rosa, filmmaker Ako sets out on a quest to discover his own identity. For a long time, he believed that his biological mother, a Kurdish journalist, had died in a tragic car accident, but the truth is that she took her own life on the Hamburg refugee ship “Casa Marina” after fleeing Turkey, leaving him behind. Why the lie? Why wasn’t he worth her staying? And why had Rosa adopted him in the first place? Ako begins a film project and sets out to trace his own past. With Große Elbstraße 275A, award-winning author Mazlum Nergiz writes his first commissioned work for the Thalia Theater.
