Duration 2 Hours 10 min., no interval
Hamburg premiere 15.10.25, Thalia Theater
Three women struggle to balance their own needs with society's expectations: When Helene unexpectedly takes her own life, Sarah, her best friend, tries to fill the void – and loses herself in the process. Lola, Helene's daughter, directs her anger at a system that demands care and creates invisibility. Mareike Fallwickl's novel tells a story of socialisation and unbroken patriarchal structures, giving space to a long-suppressed emotion: anger. Jorinde Dröse's adaptation, co-produced by Schauspiel Hannover and Salzburger Festspiele, brings this anger to the stage in an uncompromising, moving and highly topical way. Now at Thalia Theater.
