Natascha von Steiger
Natascha von Steiger was born in Switzerland and studied stage design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Since 1996, she has worked as a freelance stage designer for theatre, musical theatre and dance in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. She has collaborated with various directors such as Armin Petras, Luise Voigt, Hanna Müller, Benedikt von Peter, Wolfgang Michalek and Deborah Epstein.
In 2011, she was nominated for the German theatre award »Der Faust« for her stage design of »Das Erdbeben in Chili« (The Earthquake in Chili), directed by Armin Petras. Luise Voigt's production of »Meister&Margarita« (Master and Margarita), for which von Steiger provided the stage design, was nominated for »Der Faust« in 2023. She was head of design at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin from 2008 to 2013 and at the Schauspiel Stuttgart from 2013 to 2016, during Armin Petras's tenure as artistic director at both theatres.
