
Gina Haller
Gina Haller was born in Basel in 1987. She studied drama in Paris at Cours Florent in the Classe libre Promotion XXX from 2009 to 2011 and at the Hochschule der Künste in Bern from 2012 to 2015. She then performed in Basel and Thionville and was engaged at Theater Trier from 2015 to 2017. Further engagements followed at Theater Bremen in the17/18 season and from 2018 to 2024 at Schauspielhaus Bochum. She has worked with directors including Johan Simons, Sebastian Nübling, Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson, Roger Vontobel, Alice Buddeberg, Alize Zandwijk and Manuela Infante. She also regularly stages her own theatre projects, such as the performance Jeder Tag ein Vollmond (Every Day a Full Moon), a collaboration with the author Katja Brunner, and a research project on identity that lead her to the Herzliya Residency in Tel Aviv. Gina Haller was nominated for the Prix Olga Horstig in Paris in 2011, awarded the Studienpreis in 2013 and 2014 and the Migros Kulturprozent Prize in 2014, as well as a scholarship from the Friedl Wald Foundation in 2014. She was named Newcomer of the Year 2020 by specialist journal Theater heute. In 2021, she was the recipient of the Kunstpreis Berlin in the Performing Arts section. In 2022, she was awarded the Bochumer Theaterpreis and the Kulturpreis Baselland. As of the 25/26 season, Gina Haller is a member of the ensemble at Thalia Theater.
