
Chiara Liotine
Chiara Liotine was born in Mülheim an der Ruhr in 1997. After studying German Studies and English Studies at the University of Duisburg-Essen, she worked regularly as a freelance assistant director at Theater Bielefeld and Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, as well as being part of the artistic production team at the Asphalt Festival and Theater der Welt Festival 2021. From 2022 to 2026, she was assistant director at the Thalia Theater Hamburg.
Her first directing work was in 2022 at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus with »Dornröschen und Schweinefleisch – Gedichte von Thomas Brasch« (Sleeping Beauty and Pork – Poems by Thomas Brasch), followed in 2024 by Ariane Koch's »ALL YOU CAN EAT« at the Thalia Theater Hamburg (invited to Summer Up 9 in Stuttgart) and in 2025 by the world premiere of Édouard Louis' »Anleitung ein anderer zu werden« (Instructions for Becoming Someone Else).
In her work, she explores socially critical themes and uses dance-like choreographic elements to visualise inner psychological processes.
