The Embassy: A place for encounters, advice, and participation is relaunching. This is where people who are committed to an open society come together. In cooperation with Sprachbrücke e. V. and the Refugee Law Clinic, a network of solidarity initiatives is being created here that offers guidance to refugees, migrants, and new arrivals—from language courses to legal support in asylum and family matters.
For the reopening, the foyer of Thalia Gaußstraße will become a meeting place for exchange, getting to know each other, and encounters. DJ Ipek will provide the musical finale with a transcultural set, a resounding symbol of solidarity and community.
İpek İpekçioğlu, aka DJ Ipek, has been a pioneer of the global ethnic-orient-electronic music scene for over 30 years and is an internationally successful and award-winning DJ, producer, curator, and queer activist based in Berlin.
Commuting between Berlin and Istanbul, Ipek combines deep house, tech house, and melodic techno with the multifaceted sounds of Anatolia, Turkey, Kurdistan, Iran, and the Middle East.
As resident DJ of the legendary Gayhane – QueerOriental Dancefloor at Berlin's SO36, İpek has been shaping the sound and community for more than 27 years. Her sets transcend boundaries of origin, gender, and identity, transforming every dance floor – whether underground rave or festival stage – into a space of freedom, resistance, and belonging.
