@ENDEngel55 – a techno-mystery about the internet as the body of a dead god. And the nickname of a digital angel who lives in the dark web—in the physical communication cables on the ocean floor. As part of ASMR research into digital theology and posthuman labor, we descend into the necropolis of the network body—the dead body of God. Through everyday gestures, we reconstruct the act of repair as a ritual and offer the remnants of the human as fuel. We perform a technical liturgy over the light compressed into fiber optics—a light that carries the radically foreign and angelic—and by severing the cable, the
transmission begins.
@ENDEngel55 is the seventh production by 3rd Echelon Theater, a performative and process-oriented research project on independence as well as a radical initiative to create a new theater in Zurich, which began as part of Daniil Posazhennikov’s master’s program at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). 3rd Echelon Theater, founded by Regina Raimjanova and Daniil Posazhennikov, presented four premieres and staged over thirty performances during its first season in 2024/2025. The theater was named one of the year’s top cultural highlights by the NZZ am Sonntag and successfully concluded its first crowdfunding campaign.
