
Sebastian Zimmler
Sebastian Zimmler was born in East Berlin in 1981. He studied drama at Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch from 2006 to 2010. In 2008, he played Franz Moor in Schiller's Die Räuber at Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz in Berlin, which was invited to the Radikal jung festival for young talent in Munich and the Mannheimer Schillertage.
He played the role of Rasumichin in Andrea Breth's staging of Crime and Punishment, which premiered at Salzburger Festspiele 2008. The production Berlin Alexanderplatz by Pedro Martins-Beja at Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin, in which he played Franz Biberkopf, was awarded the Jury Prize at the Berlin Festival 100°. In 2014, he and his co-stars received the Hamburg Theatre Prize – Rolf Mares as an ensemble for Moby Dick (director: Antú Romero Nunes).
In 2011, he played in the feature film Was bleibt by Hans Christian Schmid, in 2013 in Hüter meines Bruders by Max Leo and in 2015 in Die Habenichtse by Florian Hoffmeister. He also appears in the Netflix series Dogs of Berlin.
Sebastian Zimmler was a member of the Thalia Theater ensemble from 09/10 to 15/16 and worked frequently with Leander Haußmann, Antú Romero Nunes and Jan Bosse, among others.
