
Karin Neuhäuser
Karin Neuhäuser, born in Leonberg in 1955, studied drama at Schauspielschule Bochum. In 1988, she followed Holk Freytag to Wuppertal and joined Roberto Ciulli's Theater an der Ruhr in 1992. There she played, among other roles, Ranevskaya in Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, touring with the production to Belgrade, Bogotá, Sarajevo and Tehran. She worked with Johann Kresnik (Richard III) at Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin and performed at Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz in Berlin in productions by Falk Richter and Luk Perceval. From 2002 to 2005, she was a member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Zurich, where she worked with Christoph Marthaler, Stefan Pucher, Jan Bosse and Falk Richter, among others.
Karin Neuhäuser has appeared in various film and television productions and has received several awards, including the Theaterpreis des Verbandes Deutscher Kritiker (Theatre Award of the Association of German Critics). Since 2000, Karin Neuhäuser has also regularly worked as a director in Münster, at the Staatstheater Kassel, in Frankfurt am Main and at Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. In the 12/13 season, she staged (in cooperation with Theaterakademie Hamburg) the final project of drama class, Frank Wedekind's Frühlings Erwachen, at Thalia Gaußstraße.
For her role in Stefan Pucher's project Andersen. Trip zwischen Welten at Thalia Theater, Karin Neuhäuser received the 2010 Hamburg Theatre Prize – Rolf Mares. In 2017, she was awarded the German Theatre Prize DER FAUST for her performance in Wut/Rage (directed by Sebastian Nübling).
Karin Neuhäuser was a permanent member of the ensemble from 09/10 to 21/22 and has been associated with Thalia Theater as a guest performer ever since.
