“The task is not so much to see what no one has seen yet, but to think what nobody has thought yet, about what everybody sees.” Arthur Schopenhauer
When it goes dark in the city, the lights go on. In and around Thalia “Hymns to the Night” will sound out at different stations. After the ‘lost’ time, we now open our eyes and go on a journey, we change our habits and seek a new form of expression. We search for new vocabulary. It’s about a central question: How can kindness, generosity and a good mood give our lives meaning again? How do we go right back to the beginning and start over? How can we do justice to the night? The images around us change and multiply. “When the night is at its darkest, that’s when dawn is nearest” (Ton Steine Scherben)
The first performance of “Hymns to the Night” will take place at the premiere of “The Sandman”, to be followed by selected performance days.
