We’re going to the Bobby Reich Boat Hire Shop and Restaurant on the Alster. Wait a minute, it’s so beautiful! Can we save the world’s beauty? We’re opening the season with beauty!

And we’ll start with the question we consider at the beginning of every “Herzzentrum” event: What’s important to us right now? Everything that surrounds us and makes us who we are can be considered under the perspectives and contradictions of beauty, that go far beyond the common pleasures.

Since 2012, the Thalia ensemble has enjoyed a close working relationship and friendship with writer and journalist Navid Kermani, whose texts are a key part of this “Herzzentrum” event, providing the springboard for the search for beauty and reality. And where better to host the event than the idyllic surroundings of the rowing boats and canoes on the Alster? The ensemble will once again interact with the audience in small groups – this time out in the open air and, most importantly, by the water.
