Maryam Abu Khaled
Through the veil of Hamletmaschine by the East German playwright Heiner Müller, the Exil Ensemble radically questions its own self-image in a world that has fallen apart. Through Ayham Majid Agha’s texts, Müller arrives directly in the Syrian present, with “the ruins of Europe” behind him. The Exil Ensemble unites professional artists forced to live in exile. Since 2016 seven actresses and actors have been working in various productions at the Gorki Theater Berlin.
