In his momentous 1939 novel “The Grapes of Wrath” John Steinbeck tells an epic tale of migration. The extended Joad family, like many others, sets out for California in search of a better life, travelling on what is perhaps the most famous East-W est highway in the US – Route 66.
After a long and arduous journey, they find themselves in a reality in which all promises remain
unfulfilled. Luk Perceval will be opening the Lessingtage 2016 with his production of “The Grapes of Wrath”.
