Mirco Kreibich

Mirco Kreibich was born in Berlin in 1983 and began his creative journey at the age of 11, at the Berlin State School of Ballet and Artistry. In 2002 he transferred to the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts, also in Berlin. He won his first roles while he was still a student, at the Berliner Ensemble and the Stuttgart Staatstheater. After finishing drama school in 2006, he went to the Deutsches Theater in Berlin with director Christoph Mehler and, along with two young colleagues in the Dreimann ensemble, contested the newly founded ‘Box’. In Berlin he also worked with directors Dimiter Gotscheff, Michael Thalheimer and Jette Steckel. He played the title role in her production of Camus’ ‘Caligula’, which won the audience award at the ‘Radikal Jung’ festival in Munich in 2009. In 2011 he was awarded the Boy Gobert prize. The panel explained their decision: ‘Kreibich offers technical perfection, strong stage presence and an irrepressible desire to perform, basically everything that makes a good actor.’

After three years in Berlin, Mirco Kreibich came to Thalia during the 2009/2010 season for his second long-term appointment. The 2014/15 season will see him once again reunited with director Jette Steckel.
