Cathérine Seifert

Cathérine Seifert was born in Münster in 1977. While she was a student at the Westphalian School of Drama in Bochum she played the role of Creszenz in ‘Früchte des Nichts’ at the Schauspielhaus, for which she received the 2001 scholarship from the Schauspielschultreffen in Bern. She was employed at the Schauspielhaus in Bochum from 2002 to 2005. There she worked with directors including David Mouchtar Samurai, Matthias Hartmann, Jürgen Kruse and Jürgen Gosch. She played Christine in Christian Schlüter’s version of Schnitzler’s ‘Liebelei’ and starred in the title role in Stephan Rottkamp’s production of Kleist’s ‘Käthchen von Heilbronn’. In 2005 she joined Matthias Hartmann at the Zurich Schauspielhaus. Here she played Varya in Jürgen Gosch’s production of Chekhov’s ‘The Cherry Orchard’, Evchen in Jan Bosse’s version of Kleist’s ‘Der zerbrochne Krug’ and Luise in David Bösch’s production of Schiller’s ‘Kabale und Liebe’.

Cathérine Seifert joined the Thalia ensemble as a regular member during the 2009/2010 season.
