Katrin Connan

Katrin Connan, born in 1979, studied fine arts in Groningen, Netherlands in 2000/2001 and from 2001 to 2007 fine arts / stage design at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg. In 2008 she graduated with distinction with the installation "Hors d' Œuvre Du Dancing".

During her studies she showed her paintings and performances in art clubs and galleries, performed as part of the music duo "Die Roquettes", assisted at the St. Pauli Theater and the Grand Théatre de Genève. She designed her first stage designs as part of the study projects in the painting room of the Deutsches Schauspielhaus and at the Thalia Theater Gaußstraße. Since 2008 she has been working as a stage designer at opera houses and playhouses such as Theater an der Wien, Opernhaus Zürich, Nationale Opera en Ballett Amsterdam, Oper Graz, Bregenz Festival, Staatsoper Hamburg, Semperoper Dresden, Bayerische Staatsoper, the Staatstheater Stuttgart, Theater Bremen and Schauspiel Leipzig. She has worked with directors such as Anna-Sophie Mahler, Johannes Erath, Hans Neuenfels and Nadja Loschky.

For the Thalia Theater she designed the set of "Mittagsstunde".
