Anna Degenhard studied Costume Design under Reinhard von der Thannen at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, and at the California State University in Long Beach. As well as working on productions for the Hamburg Theatre Academy, she also designed for many short films made at the Hamburg Media School.
During her studies, Anna Degenhard assisted at the Frankfurt Schauspiel, the Berlin Volksbühne and at Thalia in a freelance capacity, which led to a two-year permanent Costume Design Assistant role at Thalia. Here, she worked with directors including Antú Romero Nunes, Stefan Pucher and Jette Steckel, and collaborated with costume designers Annabelle Witt, Victoria Behr and Aino Laberenz.
Following ‘The End of Eddy’ (Thalia Gauß / Garage) and ‘Murphy’s Law’ (Lichthof Theatre), she embarked on her third collaboration with director Alek Niemiro, ‘Gravity’ (Thalia Gauß / Garage).
