Wie ihr Titel ist diese Aufführung ein Palindrom, man kann sie vorwärts und rückwärts lesen. Das Stück dreht sich um einen vom Menschen gemachten „point of no return“: zuerst etwas undurchsichtig, läuft der erste Teil ab einem Wendepunkt wieder zurück, mit berückender Raffinesse und überraschender Bedeutungsverschiebung. So formal brillant und unterhaltsam die Aufführung ist, so ernst ist allerdings ihr Thema: Der Abend dreht sich um die Frage, ob die Menschheit – in Anbetracht von Klimawandel, Plastikvermüllung und zunehmender Zerstörung der Natur – noch zu retten ist. Ist es für uns fünf vor oder schon fünf nach zwölf?

Das flämische Kollektiv Ontroerend Goed beweist in seinen Produktionen immer wieder außerordentlichen Einfallsreichtum und ersinnt formal überraschende und eindrucksvolle Theaterabende. Diese preisgekrönte Aufführung ist eine kluge visuelle Metapher: sie zeichnet den Prozess nach, in dem sich Menschen entweder ihrem Untergang oder doch ihrer Erlösung nähern, mit einem hoffnungsvollen Augenzwinkern für einen optimistischen Blick in die Zukunft.
